I can walk short distances but may need a wheelchair for the museum. Is loan equipment available after entry, and is there an entrance/lift route I should use rather than just joining whichever line is shortest?

For a mobility-dependent visit, plan around the accessible entrance/lift route rather than optimising purely for queue length. The Pyramid area is where the equipment service is.
